Statistics & Probability (AHL)
The HL extension of Topic 4: Bayes' theorem for reversing a conditional probability over a partition of up to three events, the variance of a discrete random variable, and the whole apparatus of continuous random variables — probability density functions, mode, median, mean and variance by integration, and cumulative distribution functions. Every subtopic code from AHL 4.13 to AHL 4.14.
Builds on
SL Topic 4's probability laws, tree diagrams, conditional probability and discrete expectation. HL reverses the conditioning with Bayes and replaces sums over isolated values with integrals over a continuum.
